Wings coach Mike Babcock confirmed on Wednesday that defenseman Mathieu Schnedier (strained right MCL) won't return until after the All-Star break next week. "It’s not going as good as we thought,'' Babcock said. “What they’re concerned with is it didn’t happen, recovery-wise, as quick, so any time that happens, you go back for more tests in case you miss something.’’
I’m convinced that our deep diggers are so tired of Babcock leading them astray that they’ve decided their form of retaliation will be word-for-word quotes. I’m not saying they should change the message, just grammatically refine it. I’m not suggesting anything unethically OJ/Newsweek-ish. Just some courteous sentence maintenance.
Like this: “It’s not going as good as we thought,” said Babcock. “They’re concerned the recovery didn’t happen as quick, so he’s back for more tests.”
Either way’s fine with me. Leave his diction at the second-grade level and it’s more MBCQOD’s for us.
Mrs. IwoCPO and I were in Jamaica last year and met some Canadian (ien) vacationers. We spent three days talking hockey and drinking warm Red Stripe. During the course of those high-level discussions one of the guys revealed he’d grown up with Steve Sullivan. He said the majority of folks in Sullivan’s hometown consider him a frigging A-hole.
Just thought I’d let you know that on the eve of Game 3 with our BIGGEST RIVAL.
Nik Kronwall made at least three plays when I thought he was in serious trouble in our zone the other night against Montreal. If that knee gives him any trouble at all, I don’t see it because he turns on a dime and is immediately looking up for the outlet pass. Mistake-free hockey from what I could see.
I’d like to see a return of hostilities between Chris Chelios and little sister Paulie tonite. I’d like to think the children of Michigan will be able to see a few slashes between Kariya’s shoulder blades…you know, just for fun.
Thanks to A2Y reader Hockeychic who will be attending the Wing/Dive game Saturday in The Town That Stole Quebec. She’ll be providing a first-hand account of the night’s festivities, pen at the ready to record the always-creative Denver “fans” in all their white-wine induced glory.
And that was a Tribute to Wonderboy who does things gently when called for. Tenacious D fans understand.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
