How’s Walnut Grove Looking, Ladies?

A2Y interns from Northern Michigan University came upon this goldmine of a conversation minutes ago on Twitter...

@halfpint

Watch any hockey tonight?

@maryingalls

STFU

@halfpint

Gordie Howe shook their goalie's hand.   Gordie. Howe.

@maryingalls

They were supposed to be rebuilding! Fuch.

2007 was also a rebuilding year.  This is what we do.

I dont know how MacLean got the Sens into the 2nd round of the playoffs, or even how he got them into the playoffs… your Jack Adams winner… Paul MacLean

BTW, the east must be so nice… lovely bus trips up and down the beautiful east coast, stopping in towns like new york and ottawa, enjoying the sights, playing some leisurely hockey, then getting back in that big comfy bus for a 17 min drive to the next town… ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I kind of wonder if being in the East is going to affect the Wings negatively the first part of the season.  new travel, new hotels, new restaurants, new bars, new hookers, new puppies, new firetrucks.  when you think about the day-to-day routine, it won’t be routine for any more, at least for a while.

Yes, but then you have all the top-heavy teams whose 2nd liners would be 3rd liners in the west, and 3rd liners who would be 4th liners in the west, and 4th liners who would be healthy scratches or AHLers in the west.  The east has little depth, save for a small handful of teams.

The East is the land of the Superstars Who Murder Their Team’s Cap Ability to Have Good Depth.

It’s also the land where James Reimer can be a starting goalie, Tomas Vokoun can be a playoff savior, and where 6 million dollar men are healthy scratches because teams are such a mess.

Can’t wait to burn the east to the ground too.

Tomas Vokoun can be a playoff savior,

Chris Osggod c. 2008.

THIS, on the other hand, I am on board with.

That doesn’t work IMO because PIT has two Osgoods.  Or perhaps an Osgood and a Manny Legace.  Fleury sure is no Hasek, at any rate.  Or even a Curtis Joseph (who I still think gets a bad rap for his DET stint).

But, if you set a minimum 15 games played, the answer is JIMMY HOWARD
