Got Cake? We’re Gonna Live Blog It

Look. Richard Harris was "A Man Called Horse". Have you seen it? You should. He was a bad, bad man. A tough man. So, why then--in 1968--did he feel the need to sing a song like MacArthur Park?
It's an age-old mystery, rivaled only now by this question:
Why would Ryan Suter and his BFF Zach Parise go to Minnesota where they'll never win anything more than a division crown (if that) when they could have gone to Detroit or Chicago or Pittsburgh, where Cups would have been guaranteed?
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again, oh no
He left his frigging cake out in the rain. And he can't take it. Why? Because it took so damn long to bake it. And now the Ingalls sisters are in Walnut Grove with the barn dances and the one-room schools and that little bitch Nellie Olson running roughshod over the whole damn town. No Cups, but plenty of family and love and cake.
And now they're here (in Detroyet) tonite, where they could have been all along.
Confusion rules the day when it comes to Dick Harris, Horse, horrible songs and the Ingalls sisters.
It's a Live Blog, bitches. LGRW.

i’ll take brunner over parise

Love Brunner but Parise is exactly the high energy, offensively talented, gritty forward that would have taken our offense to the next level. That being said Brunner is no slouch either.

Well, hell, since y’all going all country tonight so I will tell any of you who like “bluegrassy” stuff to check out the Incredible Stringdusters.
They were playing at a club 1 block from my big anniversity party Saturday, and they are the best I ever saw at that type of stuff. And I saw Bill and Earl and Doc and Ralph and Del and all of ‘em. I was blown the fuch away.
Didn’t get back to the room until 3 AM.

what age is parise?
what age is brunner?
when brunner is parise’s age, we’ll have had brunner those years from now until then ...
plus many more after that.
i’m thinking, based on what he (brunner) has done thus far in his career and what he is still likely to do,
i’ll take brunner over parise.
(and, by comparison, the price is right)

I’m more of the Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins homer. Unless you’re in the know, Jerry Reed is one of the most underrated guitar players ever. If he lived long enough to maybe even jam with Stevie Ray Vaughn, I can quit living right there.

I can get behind that kind of thinking. We’ve got to resign him next year for that to work though. If we had gotten Parise we’d at least have him long term, here’s hoping Brunner will be a long term addition as well.
