Hey St. Louis, weren’t you in the running for Prince Fielder? Gosh. Just not your best week.
It’s relevant because Mr. I’s a Wing, and he’s a Tiger. Mike Ilitch had himself a day like he used to have back before Gary Bettman ruined the NHL with his idiocy, his Cap that doesn’t work, a lockout that accomplished nothing and the Streisand wardrobe he wears in private consultations with Brian Burke.
I can’t confirm that so, for the sake of the Empire, I take it back. That last part.
Honestly, this day has tired me out.
It’s an Original 6 classic, one that should occur four times per year. That could have happened up until three weeks ago, when Gary killed the realignment. Oh yes he did.
Hockey’s best team, guided and molded by hockey’s greatest coach, led by the best defenseman in hockey history and backstopped by the best goalie on earth, plow into Montreal and in honor of the occasion…

I disagree, in that we showed that we own St Louis, a possible playoff opponent. That was important.
This game is “unimportant”, if there is such a thing. Still sucks to see your team get handed their asses on a dented platter.

Well, if I may try to make something attractive out of this steaming pile of shit the Wings are laying before our eyes, it means less losing two points to an Eastern Conference team than it does a team like the Blues.

I’d hoped that Babcock might like, I dunno’.. be an actual coach and have stopped this shit at 4-0.
Instead, we’re left with a game like this and left to wonder just WTF is is that Babcock actually does in his job. Because part of his job is supposed to be stopping it when everything is falling apart, and he’s not.
As much as we can ask if the team has no pride, don’t Babcock and his assistants have any too?
Or have they checked out already for the AS Break too?

It’s times like these when I wish the Wings were on 24/7 so we could really see what’s said between the periods in games like these. I just have this gut feeling that nothing is said just because everyone is a “veteran” and knows what they’re “supposed” to do. I have a hard time seeing Babcock actually just let it all out and yell at these guys. I hope he does though, they need a *#$%@& wake up call in games like these against teams like these.

Hate to say it without knowing the details, but clearly the wrong message was sent to the team when Nick didn’t play.
Can you imagine this happening with Bowman behind the bench? Jesus…
The correct answer is “No, I can’t” because the players were truly scared to death of Scotty, and it wouldn’t have happened, plain and simple.
