GDT - WCQF Game 1: Red Wings (0-0) at Ducks (0-0) 10:30

22 straight seemed like a long-shot back in mid-March when DET headed out to the West coast for a four game swing, beginning with a ridiculous back-to-back at ANA (thanks Gary, ass).   At the time, DET were 5-6-2 on the road, and ANA were13-1 at home.  Those two wins at ANA (5-1, and 2-1) were big at the time - - they are huge now.

DET can do this.  Jimmy is a freaking wall right now (4-0, 0.75, .969 in last 4 GP), and Mule is not useless. The 3 and 4 line are playing big, and they'll have to continue to do so.

Babcock, never one to tinker with success (forgot the sarcasm font), is rolling the same lines as used down the stretch:

“The guys who got us here are getting into Game 1,'' Babcock said Sunday.

Bonjour!

Yep, it’s on.  Bring on those Quacks.

I’m staying up if I have to drink a pot of coffee this evening.  More excited than nervous right now.  I’m feeling newly and happily confident in our team.

Thanks, Okie!

LET’S GO RED WINGS !!!!!

DET - HOT:

How come Z gets absolutely no love here?  His 10 points in the last four games don’t warrant hot status?  Does THN have something against him?  He never seems to show up as hot.

Not that it matters in the end, I’ve just found it curious that he never seems to get credit on that particular list.

Really?  I think that trip was great.  The Wings seemed very happy with it too.  A day off between games to spend time in the sun.  Why would you want more travel?  Thank you, Gary (not that you had anything to do with it).

Yeah, that must be the reason.  Must be because THN is Canadian, it’s not like every single player who is  listed as hot on Detroit is from somewhere other than Canada.

Thanks so much for bringing xenophobia into the conversation.

Here’s to hoping they lay off the Coronas this trip.
