GDT - Game 42: Red Wings (19-15-7) at Predators (15-19-8) 7:30

DET have fallen off the back of the POS, and today are in the running for a lottery ball.  The Wings main problem this season is their inablilty to score more than 3 a game; their 2.46 G/G is 10th worst in the league.

Of course NSH thinks 2.46 to be a downright gaudy number, they are dead-last in scoring at a woeful 2.29 G/G.  The Predators hit the ice tonight riding a 5 game losing streak.  But, Wing-Killer Pekka Rinne is on-fire: 1-4-2, 1.85, .942 in last 7 GPI,  stopping everything in sight and losing.

Time to win or go home.

Thanks, Okie.

I’m sure the Preds are salivating at the thought of keeping the Red Wings out of the playoffs.  The Wings better be fired up tonight.

LET’S GO RED WINGS !!!!!

Not sure I will watch or not…. but either way I’ll keep my expectations down around my shoelaces.
We spent about 16 hours yesterday at a baseball tournament and lost a heart breaker in the 9th inning of what was supposed to be a 6 inning game. The boys played their guts out and had nothing to hang their heads about….. watching millionaires put up 1/2 assed efforts pales in comparison.

Khan Tweets from the morning skate:

So tonight’s scratches are Eaves, Quincey. White and Lashoff (Grand Rapids). . .

Babcock said Lashoff sent down to Grand Rapids to get some games in . . .

Babcock said only change tonight is Smith in for Quincey. Zetterberg is playing. Howard starting, of course

Horry Crap!
With the Wings situation going from worse to, “well, that sucks”, I thought I would visit the Lions website to check up on the next sport of note.  Through my lying eyes I learn ...

Jason Hanson is ending his remarkable career with the Lions with the same resolute professionalism that allowed him to perform at his peak for all 21 seasons.

How did I miss that? Jeebus, if the Lions draft that girl that could not kick I’m gonna get angry.

and now, back to your regularly shedYuled pelotoning…...

Won’t make the LB tonight, 19.  STFU, RorSchach.  wink

Since I’ve said that Hope is for Hallmark Cards and LIfetime Channel movies, I’m DARING the Wings to pull off a seven game miracle like they did coming back from nil-3 against the Chum a year ago.

I DARE you Wings to win.

Homer’s the only Swede who’ll take a dare SYF.

I’ve never seen a group of Wings who appeared so content to lose. “We could be a little better here and there” as we slide into 9th place with the same issues we’ve had for the past 3 years.

I bet they already have their names in a few golf tourney’s.

As a group who’s never had to be desperate before or lost enough to appreciate winning, I think we’ll need a couple seasons like the late 80’s early 90’s to relearn how to put the skate to throat.

I’ll be late to the LB tonight.  The new women’s professional soccer league is kicking off their inaugural regular season this weekend, and I’m going to watch my adopted team, the Washington Spirit, play their first game at 6:30.  Will try to join you after that.

LET’S GO RED WINGS !!!!!

Preditard’s leading scorer will have less points than teeth for the season. Kick em in the nuts while there down tonite.

Tigs up 8-1 in the6th with Annibel who wears #19 pitching well. Good juju?

Game on SNBC again. You would think in the 21st century we could watch whatever game feed we desired.  Bah thanks again Gary. Ass.
