GDT - Game 32: Red Wings (15-11-5) at Ducks (22-4-4) 8:00

DET sit 7th in the Conference today; 3 points from 4th, and 3 points from 11th.

Last GDT I was predicting all doom and gloom for this road trip - and we won?  That just proves how little I know about hockey.

But I do know about superstition - there is no chance in hell for Detroit today; we are doomed.  Play it Slow-hand!

Pavel Datsyuk has six points in the last three games, but he’s not hot?  Who comes up with this list, Fox Sports?

Ericsson as “NOT HOT” just because he hasn’t scored lately? Watch the games Hockey News….geez.

me thinks the d-ucks are gonna be ‘U-G-L-Y ducks’ tonight;
buckle your helmets, boys ... and “Keep your heads up!”

now ... this:

Get Fox Sports Detroit to rehire Larry Murphy

sign the petition here

As far as I know, Murph never planned to be an announcer, but he did bring character to the Wings home feed broadcasts.

Bring him back, FSD. Bring him back.

“Bring Back Mur-phy” clap-clap-clapclapclap ...
“Bring Back Mur-phy” clap-clap-clapclapclap ...
“Bring Back Mur-phy” clap-clap-clapclapclap ...

... and this:

well, the final final CCHA championship game is today at 2:05 PM at The Joe ...

the pairing is: University of Michigan Wolverines vs ND

Go Blue!

get the boys ready, Red.

Uncle Mike likes to harp endlessly about going to the net. Ostensibly, that’s the primary reason he put Abby with Pav. But what made Friday stand out for me was that Abby was in other spots and asking for the puck. Let’s hope we see more of that Abby, the one being mind melded by Pav. The Absyuk.

an observation others have made.  The creative/organic play vs. the system.  Has to be a balance and that’s what Scotty was really good at.  Maybe not with Homer but Babs shouldn’t be out there trying to create a new Homer.  Everyone has their role, let Abby find HIS, not Homers.  Maybe THATS why Abby looks like such a beast in world championships and comes back to being normal average Abby when he’s with the Wings.

I do remember a couple goals he scored in ‘09 Finals.

I wasn’t addressing availability at all; just talent. 6’2”. 200. Can really skate. Likes to join the rush (or be his own rush). Bomb of a shot and makes the pass on the tape. Plays with an edge. He’s the whole package.

Rummy, enjoy your son’s birthday festivities.  And yes, I would like to see Tootoo in there tonight.

Well, my Wolverines couldn’t get it done.  Too bad.  I’m really proud of them though.  Epic turn around the last month or so after a really crappy season.  Red for Coach of the Year!  MoreShoot - I think you’re right.  There will be a lot of pressure from the Peg for Trouba to turn pro.  He’s ready.

Did you people hear that Stevie Y fired Guy Boucher today?  I was rather stunned.
