Now they’ve won four straight games and seven of their last eight to reach 8-8-2, have scored 32 goals during those eight games while allowing 20. They’ve taken advantage of being at Little Caesars Arena, where they have won five of their last six games. ...
October’s schedule featured one top opponent after another in Columbus, Toronto, Boston, Montreal, Winnipeg and Dallas, while November has featured New Jersey, the Rangers, Carolina and Arizona — and now comes games at Ottawa and the Devils. These are, and have been, winnable games.
“The schedule has a way of evening out,” Blashill said. “Early on it was a tough schedule for a multitude of reasons. Now we’ve been on more of a home stand for a bit. Regardless of how we started, we felt we had to take advantage of this home schedule.
