from Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press,
Moritz Seider’s whirlwind week segued from Vancouver to Detroit, where he was welcomed with the excitement befitting a highly regarded prospect.
Shortly after the Detroit Red Wings drafted him at sixth overall in the draft on Friday, Seider received a phone call from Dylan Larkin.
“I was so excited,” Seider said Tuesday as the Wings began a five-day development camp at Little Caesars Arena. “I didn’t know what I had to say. It was really cool.”
While Larkin called Seider, another Red Wings first-round pick was busy taking the advice of general manager Steve Yzerman and Googled the German defenseman.
“Seider is a real good defenseman,” Veleno said. “I’ve seen a couple of his clips and he moves well, skates well.”
I may or may not add to this later today, it all depends if it is actually newsworthy and not just interviews for the sake of an interview.
