C’mon Back Bubba: We’ll Have A Surprise Or Two

And one just might be a buddy you used to know.

The Detroit Red Wings will open the 2012-13 season against the Nashville Predators, the team that ended their 2011-12 season.
The Red Wings season-opener is Friday, Oct. 12 against Nashville at Joe Louis Arena. The Predators defeated Detroit in five games in the opening round of the playoffs.
The NHL is expected to release the schedule Thursday morning.

How sweet that would be to roll Suter out in his winged wheel game one against Bubba.

Not only is it gonna be sweet as McFeck to roll Suter and Kronwall against their “top” line but it’s gonna be even sweeter running our top line of Zetterberg, Parros and (insert anybody here, who cares) against Weber. Time to bring back the Tough to the D.

What happens if Tick Tock sends a qualifying offer to Weber as well, 12 years average 8 per year?

What if Steve Yzerman signed on to play another year?

Gotta wonder who developed the schedule.  It’s almost like NBCSucksNetwork assumes Suter is coming to Detroit and they want to play up that Suter vs. Weber angle during the first broadcast.

I’d love it.  I’d also love it if Weber had to stand there and watch #5 being hoisted to the rafters.

Hell let’s just make Suter the new captain. Thay might make Webber’s head explode like the movie clip that makes it here once in awhile.

I just don’t know about Schultz. It kinda goes against the grain of how we “over-ripen” the youngin’s in this organ-i-zation. What does it say to Smith? Is he that much better than Brendan that a year of seasoning is not necessary?

My reaction is that NBC/NHL do not want Suter to go to Detroit and by scheduling and publicly announcing the first game is between the two teams are trying to put pressure on and negatively influence him against signing with Detroit.

But that’s just me.

Yeah, I had the same reaction to that one.

Blech, stupid NHL has the last game of the regular season between the Wings an Dive here at the Can.  I hate the last game of the regular season as it is usually meaningless…sigh.
