Cleaning It Up

My wife told me to look for the garland. She said it was in the only-reachable-by-ladder attic kind of deal in the garage.  Words fail me when I tell you the great pride I felt in responding with these words:  “I literally have no idea what garland is.”

Oh, I had an idea what garland is. But do you remember the scene from “Shawshank”,  what Andy Dufresne said about drinking beer while working outside?  “I think a man workin’ outdoors feels more like a man if he can have a bottle of suds. That’s only my opinion.”

That’s kinda how I felt.  I think a man feels more like a man if he can tell his wife he has no frigging idea what “garland” is. And if he can say it with a real sarcastic tone, even better.

Don’t get me wrong.  I got the garland down from the attic.  But for a minute there, boy, I was the man.

And then I went inside, cracked one, and got to work cleaning up the blog roll on the starboard side.  A few changes.  Man, a whole bunch of sites that hadn’t been updated in several monts.  Gone.

And a few more I visit all the time but hadn’t gotten around to adding. Exampe:  Knee Jerk City, Mirtle’s new spot, Hockey Joe’s place over at Fox and Ted Leonsis’ new address as well.  I’ll be digging into the Wing-specific section yet. So if any of you bastards haven’t been writing lately and hope to stay, you best get tip-tapping.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome: wphoulihan@gmail.com
