The Wings have lost horrendously to the two worst teams in hockey. Consecutive waterboardings. Disgusting.
So, tonite, against the team I believe to be the best in the Western Conference?
Tick Tock and Uncle Mike are starting a rookie because our other rookie (McCollum..is he even technically a rookie?) literally "terrifies" the organ-I-zation, and James Tiberius Howard is exhausted.
Our blue line is decimated and our third line can't score. The fourth line has been instructed to let themselves get hit like Rudy Frigging Stein. Do not shoot. Do not swing. Do not make any offensive gestures. Engelbert's on deck and he's been killing the ball lately.
The Wings beat the Blues last time out after David Backes was tossed due to a clean check to a Detroit tummy. He's going to be angry. The whole team is going to be absolutely frantic. The crowd, amped up on Pall Malls and Ten High whiskey, will be quiet only long enough to swap tongues with whatever relative is on their immediate left.
The opponent. The atmosphere. The Wings, themselves.
All signs point to the worst regular season defeat in Detroit Hockey History.
Two goals for Datsyuk. One for Wally and one for Charlie by God Buckets.
Wings win 4-2.

That felt good. But to any game there is skill and consistency. I am never worried about the first with the Wings but the second is up in the air.

Fuching glorious.
Well I called Emmerton and Brunner getting goals, Pav almost had me runnin’ 100% but didn’t capitalize there when he had the chance. Almost typed Mrazek gets his first shutout but didn’t want to jynx it but then felt like I already did. Turns out I was right but that kid did just fine. His break-in period will be MUCH smoother than Howies who looked like a fish flopping in the crease his first 10 or so NHL games.
They let off the gas a bit here and there but overall a great game. Blues seemed to have a hard time getting’er going, weren’t physical majority of the game which seems to be what makes this team tick.
Great way to start the weekend, go Wings!
And didn’t Tatar look like a regular? Plays bigger than he is, has wheels on him, quick on the puck, good vision. Diggin’ it.

Rookie goaltender looks fantastic in his first game. Three different players come off the schneid and get their first goal of the season. A beautiful unassisted breakaway goal to top off a road blowout victory.
All of this describes a Red Wings win rather than a loss. The Mayans were right.
