The Wings have lost horrendously to the two worst teams in hockey. Consecutive waterboardings. Disgusting.
So, tonite, against the team I believe to be the best in the Western Conference?
Tick Tock and Uncle Mike are starting a rookie because our other rookie (McCollum..is he even technically a rookie?) literally "terrifies" the organ-I-zation, and James Tiberius Howard is exhausted.
Our blue line is decimated and our third line can't score. The fourth line has been instructed to let themselves get hit like Rudy Frigging Stein. Do not shoot. Do not swing. Do not make any offensive gestures. Engelbert's on deck and he's been killing the ball lately.
The Wings beat the Blues last time out after David Backes was tossed due to a clean check to a Detroit tummy. He's going to be angry. The whole team is going to be absolutely frantic. The crowd, amped up on Pall Malls and Ten High whiskey, will be quiet only long enough to swap tongues with whatever relative is on their immediate left.
The opponent. The atmosphere. The Wings, themselves.
All signs point to the worst regular season defeat in Detroit Hockey History.
Two goals for Datsyuk. One for Wally and one for Charlie by God Buckets.
Wings win 4-2.

This had been our best period of the year until we go on this power play.

That is a successful PP.
We didn’t give up a shorthanded goal.

So, I had this weird dream last night that the Wings went to St. Louis and played a great first period, with a solid forecheck and quality play in their own zone. Even more strange, they left the first period with a two-goal lead.
Dreams can be so odd. And unrealistic.
Anyone know what time the game starts tonight?

Well, there is that.

Was that the best period Detroit has played all year? Fear can inspire!!

Every time Datsyuk sends a puck around the net on the boards I die a little inside.
Posted by Yzersyuk on 02/07/13 at 09:45 PM ET
Hey Wings, do what you just did for 40 more minutes and we’ll be okay.
Posted by calquake on 02/07/13 at 09:45 PM ET
St Louis is thinking, well, at least we picked up some momentum during their power play.

Wow, what a great period! Sure hope the Wings can keep this going. I’m going to shut my computer down now but will be listening to the rest of the game.

And, our Petr wasn’t soft for the first twenty minutes. That’s always important.

Kindl, Mrasek, Mursak, .... Hudler could have been the FourCzech.

I’ve been tooting this horn too much lately, but ... again. Should the Wings make a strong play for Visnovsky?

Checkin in. been in a bar without hockey…watching replays of a pick up truck burning with no sound. Seems to be a big deal. I miss the olde days when a good long freeway chase on Hwy 405 was on…
So how we doing? I see somebody wrote “Kindl scores”....up the LB a bit. Put down the crack pipe I thinks.
Strange times….
Surely Murf with his sexy glasses can bring clarity.

Since it’s the Islanders we’d be dealing with and they already screwed Detroit on the Nabakov signing, what makes you think they would deal with us without asking for the moon?

I had been tugging at raunch brown distilled liquor before the game thinking that something like rum you were suggesting would be easier on the tongue, but I put down everything during the first period as my jaw dropped wider than Linda Lovelace’s.
