This is the fastest back to back I think I've ever seen. A real short time between games, and the Islanders are waiting to pounce.
The Wings are coming in on high after the high scoring affair yesterday. Let's see if our Wings have a few more tricks(goals) up their jerseys.
Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!
It's a live blog. Bitches!

Total collapse by Howard. Expected.

To be fair they are playing like crap in front of him.

Playing a really soft game today. Not putting in the effort to put a body on anyone

It’s a sad state…..0-3

Somebody pull the fire alarm in the arena so the Wings can take a nap during the delay…

Make this count! Claw back in it!

And it’s not that Jimmy is allowing big rebounds, that happens, it’s that he stays frozen in place while watching where it’s going instead of reacting.

It’s like it takes him a second to realize he needs to get over in the net. And a second delay in reacting will result in a goal almost every time.

That third goal was brutal by Jimmy.

But they are taking a nap now…... out on the ice….
Assist to the evil gnomes scheduling crew.

I’m not going to fault Jimmy on this game. You look at the last 2 goals scored and it’s Isles right near the crease without a defender on them. Bad rebounds are going to happen. The defenders need to body up a man and negate his stick instead of pirouetting in open space looking for the puck.
Posted by Valek from Chicago on 02/15/16 at 02:44 PM ET

Hard to blame them for being asleep, they finished playing last night at 7, went to New York and the puck dropped at 1. That being said, I wish they could win in spite of that.

Jimmy is playing okay but okay in a game like today is not enough. There is plenty of blame to go around and this is a team letdown as much as anything else.

Just checking in at lunchtime. Saw the over 100 posts and thought it was a good sign and read that it’s not.

Howard has something to prove. Sometimes the goalie has to be “the guy”.
He is the last guy the puck does or doesn’t go by.

Guys, this is going to surprise you I know, but the Wings’ defense blows goats today.
Not Jimmy’s fault.

Yeah this is true. Jimmy didn’t play yesterday so he should be fresh and hasn’t made a good case for getting his game back. He hasn’t had much help but it’s not like the wings can just give him wins. He has to earn them.

I think the difference is that in a game like this your goaltender has to be stellar. All things being equal most fans, myself included, think Mrazek can steal a game like this for you. Jimmy? Not so much.

well, think we are down to trying not to be shut oot.

Flex Seal must be the greatest product ever. At least it looks like it. You can build a house or a space ship with a spray can.
Posted by RWBill on 02/15/16 at 03:09 PM ET

Come on now. No excuse for either the breakaway or the penalty.
Good save though Jimmy.
Posted by Bent from The U.P. on 02/15/16 at 03:09 PM ET

I didn’t know that was a penalty.
