Here’s How You Give Thanks…

...you put the Duck’s head on a block of wood.  Hold it down and flick the beak for a few minutes, just to torture it.  Do Ducks even have beaks?  Is that how “beak” is spelled?

Who You Blaming?  Put The Pipe Down.

First, this simple sentence rendered me fetal this afternoon.

But the Sharks, Habs, Ducks, Bruins, Pens…all of the teams we would consider to be competitive…we haven’t won a SINGLE GAME against what I would consider to be a top tier team.  That’s more than a hangover.  That suggests a failure at the front office.

Probably Not The Best Day To…

...hear this, courtesy of Helene St. James.

“Who’s the hardest working team in the National Hockey League?” he said. “Well, in the past I’ve been able to say without any question, here. I don’t think that’s the case right now.”

That’s Uncle Mike doing the talking, and he wasn’t done yet.

As has become his usual routine with the Diggers, he threw in a jab at the goalies too.

Starring Reputah The Beautah, Direct From Boston, It’s A Live Blog

In one of the greatest upsets in Live Blog sponsorship history, it was J. Geils over Aerosmith by a single vote.

And believe you me, I had a whole series of Perry/Tyler lyrics lined up.

Cleaning It Up

My wife told me to look for the garland. She said it was in the only-reachable-by-ladder attic kind of deal in the garage.  Words fail me when I tell you the great pride I felt in responding with these words:  “I literally have no idea what garland is.”

Oh, I had an idea what garland is. But do you remember the scene from “Shawshank”,  what Andy Dufresne said about drinking beer while working outside?  “I think a man workin’ outdoors feels more like a man if he can have a bottle of suds. That’s only my opinion.”

Oh…This Is Gonna Be A Tough One

Update:  It’s 1647 EST and two votes separate Boston, Aerosmith and the J. Geils Band.  I can’t even describe to you the tension in my house right now.  So, I"m leaving the poll open until 1845.  It’s going right down to the wire.

Third game in four nights, on the road, 24 hours after a home game?  Classic Gary. Ass move. Classic.  Way to get the most of out of your Original Six opportunities LG.

But I’m not concerned with that now.

More Equal Than The Others?

Uh oh.  This may get interesting, and we may be looking at a sure indicator as to who will be leaving when The Decision needs to be made by our hero Tick Tock Kenny Holland.

Hurry Back Mac, Now Sit…And Wing Games “Suck”

Too bad Darren McCarty didn’t see fit to skip a practice, like one of his peers from “the Association.”  Nice character pickup there Joe.

If Mac had opted out of today’s morning skate, he might be in there tonite…instead of nursing a groin injury from the press box.

“I’ve been treating it all year,” McCarty said. “I just stopped the wrong way, felt a sharp pain. I don’t think it’s anything super serious.”

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome: wphoulihan@gmail.com
