Here Come The Diggers

Yes, yes, yes. I know.  I know that if details of Kris Draper’s injury are being kept close-hold, that it’s a necessary thing.  I got that.  You guys have picked on me about that enough.

But for the love of SBJ.  Somebody at least tell me they’ve asked the question.

Khan(!)

Update from Thursday’s practice: Center Kris Draper saw the doctor today and was ruled out for Games 1 and 2 against Anaheim. He’ll be re-evaluated on Sunday afternoon before a decision is made on whether he can play Games 3 and 4 in Anaheim.

Draper has missed the last six games with an upper-body injury but continues to practice and work out off-ice.

No, No, No….The Adults Are In “KK Hockey”

Turn Cinemax on the for the kids and get them away from the computer.  Team Dub saw what Gabe did this morning and starting pouting like a little biotch.

Then he got to work.  Oh, and stand by. Because so did WingfaninBeanland.

As we’ve said a few times here this week…it’s on.

Winging It Previews Round 2

Wanted to give you guys a few hours to digest Gabe’s brilliance before I started lopping stuff on top of it.  That thing is frigging inspired, eh?  You know what’s disappointing?  More than half the people who see that thing won’t have any idea who the “woman” is.

And on to the promised business at hand.

Plans For Today And Brilliance You Can’t Miss

Yesterday we brought you some reaction from the Poultry bloggers.  We’ll probably have more of that today.  I know that Cindy Brady’s got her thoughts up and James O’Brien has a couple SoCal fashion kings named Arthur and Daniel previewing the series.

Us? Here’s our plan today.  All Wing bloggers all day.  If there’s a Saler or a Deke or a Pete, a Malik, Hammond or Static who’ve said a word about this series, then we’re gonna find it, cut/copy/paste it, and claim it as our own…as usual.  So look for that.

In the meantime? This.

Oh…It’s on

Even I am sometimes surprised at the quality of venom where the Poultry are concerned.  And you know what?  You frigging need that kind of hate.  You thrive on it.  It sustained you from 1996 through 2002, then it lay dormant.

But it’s awake now bitches.  That acid is bubbling and it is poised.  2007 is a disgusting scab, pried from your knee, halfway off, fiddled with then busted wide open when you grew tired of looking at it.

And it grew infected over the course of 23 months.  Now it needs to be dealt with, sterilized, removed once and for all.

Red Wings v. Ducks, W.C. Semi-final Preview

Until the puck drops on Friday for game one of the W.C. Semi-final,  I’ll post anything and everything that is worthwhile in the Red Wings/Ducks series in this thread.  Look for updates between now and the GDT, Bitches.  My apologies for missing the last GDT and L.B., family emergency.

UPDATE:  Khan(!) has notes from Wings practice on Thursday, Drapes still out Games 1 and 2, more below.

Try And Deny It Now: Datsyuk Best In NHL

Nominated for the Byng, the Selke.

And now the frigging Hart.  And nice frigging job from Khan(!) to get the word and get it out there.

The Red Wings’ Pavel Datsyuk is one of the three finalists for the Hart Trophy as league MVP. The official annoucement is due in about an hour. Don’t know for sure who the other two finalists are, but it’s safe to assume Washington’s Alex Ovechkin and Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin are the other two.

Datsyuk is the first Red Wing to be named a Hart finalist since Sergei Fedorov won the award in 1994.

Great comment from Aphaea a few minutes ago, and anyone in the MSM with a pair will pick up on it too.

To think there might be three Russians as finalists for the Hart. Screw you, Don Cherry.

Two Days Before Game Time?  There Can Be Only One

...solution, that is.  This is no time for maturity.  Shockingly, you agree.  Hard hitting analysis, a series prediction and a few flow charts will follow shortly.  But first, this just in.

Stop What You’re Doing.  Read This.

Somebody just sent me a link to a blog I hadn’t visited before.  I opened it, read the first three sentences, bookmarked it, added it to the sidebar on the starboard side (Head to Hockeytown) and then finished the post.

Why did it hook me?

Poultry Fans: They’re Not Just Earl Anymore.  There Are Like Five More.

Good morning.  I’ve done you yet another favor, because I care.  The Starboard Side has been updated.  Gone are the BJs.  Bye. Thank you.  In their place? The Poultry blogs and media sources, a limited amount to be sure.

Some of you may view that section and think it skimpy.  I understand.

But when we present you with links and options, they are directly reflective of the amount of interest in that respective team…as determined by our highly scientific A2Y hockey fan census, conducted by interns from Delta College.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome: wphoulihan@gmail.com
