Happy Now?

I think, based on little since I didn’t see the game, that it’s safe to say the Wings have righted the ship.  I’m jet-setting all over the countryside again so I wasn’t able to watch or even catch up on the live blog.  Snake Plissken isn’t communicating with any of us anymore and the Diggers were less than descriptive today.

So I turned to a few guys you may not read too much of, starting with the Minnesota Star Tribune’s Michael Russo.
Russo’s Rants

Tonight, they were constantly on the attack and almost toying with the Wild. They fired 79 pucks at Josh Harding (registered shots, shots missed and shots blocked by the Wild). Often times, they’d work the puck down low. And if nothing was going, they’d just reset and start over by sending the puck back to the point.

It was like they were working the half court offense as somebody said. They fire the puck from everywhere, and it seemed every shot was a scoring chance.

Make It A Six Pack Why Don’t Ya?

Chris Osgood’s in net tonite, hoping to delay that imminent Toskala deal.

I still can’t get over the idiocy of that particular idea.

And with Osgood’s return to the crease tonite, I’m sure your comments will be well-considered and even mild.

Wow… That Would Be Really Stupid

Goaltending got you down in the dumps?  Did you wake up your children this morning demanding that they find a way to bring Tim Thomas to Hockeytown?

No?  Good. Me either.

But hey.  Want to feel smart?  ‘Cause if you do? I’ve got a plan.

Franzen, Homer, McCarty and Suarez

Man, I’m tired.  Tired I tell you.  I sat on the couch last night, watched me some Wings and allowed this bastard to have his way with you on the Live Blog.

First time, long time. Great blog. So smart. All of you are.

Commissioner Bettman’s being interviewed on Versus. Very articulate.

And you let that go.  I was tempted to jump in and save the Live Blog.  But, I remembered our deal. I’m a healthy scratch as long as the Wings keep winning.

Rushmore In Hockeytown

John Buccigross is bored.  So he decided to name four players from each team to 30 different organ-I-zational Mt. Rushmores.

The Wings?

Guess them before you click.

Minus The Gamewrecker?  It’s A Live Blog

I’ve got nothing to say to any of you.

But Chris in Hockey Hell did see Terry Crisp and Pete Web(b)er making their way to the SoGay this afternoon and sent us this image.

Khan(!): Osgood Sitting Again

Johan Franzen’s in a cast and won’t play until at least Sunday against the Dive, who currently sit in 14th place in the Western Conference, just one point ahead of the pathetic—yet still bitter—St. Louis Blues. Nothing you read the rest of this post has anything to do with the Dive or the Blues, but I thought it a nice time to mention how well each team is doing.

Meanwhile, back to the Stanley Cup Champions.

Tuesday With The Diggers

Hello. Good morning.  A few ditties I’d like to bring to your attention today as we emotionally prepare ourselves for another stirring Original 30 matchup.  Tick Tock’s being shady. Charlie Buckets is kicking Slugworth ass again.  The circus is back together and there is so much joy.  So much of it.  Plus, the Predators have announced they’ll be unveiling the “Kiss Your Cousin Cam” tonite at the SoGay.

That last part is not true.

Oh, and we have some magical juvenilicity at the bottom.

But first, let’s get serious.

The Boos?  Oh, They Pretty Much Stopped With Nine Minutes Left

You know, it’s a little strange that we refer to the Blues fans as “bitter.”  I mean, they are…don’t get me wrong.  But we definitely shouldn’t be so narrow-minded as to think that other fans aren’t included in that description.

Now, I think you have an idea where I’m going with this.  So, before I begin…I’m playing with house money.  For three years I’ve been building up the collateral that allows me to say what’s gonna follow after the little jumpety doo.  Because I’ve defended Sergei Fedorov every time the pretend Wing fans boo’d him at the Joe?  Because I’ve done that consistently, I can say this with a certain amount of credibility.

Every single one of you, Wing fan or not, knows who won today in Pittsburgh.

I don’t. I have no idea.  Drove for seven hours today. Just got home.  Actually listened to Mike Lange’s call on Pens radio as I drove through Pennsylvania.  But it was too nerve wracking and turned it off with 7:45 left in the first.  Scoreless.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that. Your suggestions and critiques are welcome: wphoulihan@gmail.com
